Apple didn’t even drop a hint related to any sort of hardware announcement to be made at WWDC ‘11, and different reports also suggest that the next gen iPhone will see the light of day in Fall instead of Summer.
Here’s an interesting twist in the whole story, some AT&T representatives from customer care claim to have heard from Apple themselves that there would be no new iPhone this summer.
“Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future,” the report noted the AT&T representative as saying. “Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.”
There’s not a lot of weight into this rumor as there’s no hard or solid evidence from where they actually heard this news from. But in my opinion, and it’s a gut feeling that Apple might not actually release the iPhone 5/4S this summer. Why do I think so? Because they just released the white iPhone 4, Apple wouldn’t want to kill its market over a newer model now would they? [via AppleInsider]
